Wanna know how to build a list? Well, here’s how NOT to do it.

We are supposed to learn from our mistakes. William Brant, creator of Max Traffic Pro and 13 Deadly Traffic Exchange Tragedies, wants everyone to learn from his mistakes. And he’s made plenty of them. Thirteen of them to be exact. And he listed all of them for you in his new ebook 13 Deadly List Building Tragedies.

The book is not merely a list of don’ts, though. Each “tragedy” is explained in detail with suggested list building resources to help you avoid them.

There is no hype here. William doesn’t hide the fact that list building is a process that won’t be done overnight. But he does provide tips that will save you time and money along the way.

The information in 13 Deadly List Building Tragedies is free. You will need to register with the site unless you can find someone willing to give you a copy. Chances are, though, if you do find that someone, you are on her list and she already has your email address. AND, she is probably an upgraded member of the 13 Deadly List Building Tragedies membership site.

Upgraded members of 13 Deadly List Building Tragedies get to rebrand their own copy of the ebook. Rebranding means that all the links in the ebook have been coded to YOU so all those tools and sites suggested in the book — people click the links and join under YOU.

So this is how it works. You join 13 Deadly List Building Tragedies and get a free ebook chock-full of tips and info that you desperately need to build a list the right way from the start. You can give away the book to people as an incentive to join your list. If you upgrade your 13 Deadly List Building Tragedies membership and rebrand your copy of the book, then people who join 13 Deadly List Building Tragedies under you will download a copy of YOUR rebranded book with YOUR links in it. You can build your list and your income at the same time. Did I mention you earn commissions on your referrals who upgrade? More money in your pocket just from giving away anĀ  ebook that has information that people want and need . What could be easier? Well, falling off of a log I suppose is easier, but I don’t recommend doing that.

I do recommend, however, reading 13 Deadly List Building Tragedies. The book is free, but the list building information is priceless.

It’s February, the shortest month of the year. Not much time to procrastinate, so let’s get moving!

TODAY: Freeway members are earning DOUBLE the normal amount of credits for surfing. Upgraded members can claim their February monthly credits and impressions. So EVERYBODY needs to login to their Nexus Exchange account, get your credits, and assign them to your campaigns.

Credits look great in your account, but they don’t do you any good unless they are assigned to campaigns. YOU are in full control of your advertising at Nexus Exchange. You set up auto-assign to distribute the credits that you earn as you surf. You assign all bonus credits claimed and credits that you earn by referring new members and showing your referral pages.

Speaking of control, you also control your payments to us or any other traffic exchange. When you upgrade your membership, you login to your payment processor and setup a subscription. YOU give your payment processor permission to pay your monthly payments. When you want to downgrade your membership, YOU must login to your payment processor and CANCEL your subscription. We at Nexus Exchange, and admin at any other traffic exchange for that matter, do NOT have access to your payment processor account. Think about it. If program owners had that power, wouldn’t we just upgrade everybody, move to the Bahamas, and live on the beach for the rest of our lives?

Last paragraph make absolutely no sense whatsoever? That’s okay, I’m used to hearing that. Learn all about online payments from Sunny Suggs. I love her ebooks. They have pictures! She includes screenshots with arrows and asterisks and explanations of what you should take note of and know. I’m a visual learner. I need to take written paragraphs and translate them into pictures and diagrams to fully understand what is being said. Sunny does all that for me in her ebooks. It can’t get any more simple than that!

Okay everybody? Let’s bust a move!!

MOVING! I almost forgot. We are moving servers this week. To better serve our members, we are moving our dedicated server hosting to ZootHost where traffic exchange hosting is a specialty. We will send out an email to the members when the move occurs. All grandfathered Gold members of Nexus Exchange who have domains hosted on our dedicated server, watch your email inbox for a personal email from me with the new nameservers.

Nexus Exchange now has a splash page that members can customize with their name and picture, thanks to William Brant, full-time online marketer and owner of most notably MaxTrafficPro and 13 Deadly Traffic Exchange Tragedies.

I had the design for the splash page months ago. I finally got the hang of HTML to make a web page look decent, but I haven’t learned PHP coding yet. PHP code makes web pages do things like pull the correct picture or name from a database or place the person signing up on the page under the correct sponsor. My brain wasn’t designed for programming code.

But William Brant is a renaissance man. Not satisfied with mere site ownership, he is taking the bull by the horns and learning PHP. When he found out about my dilemma, he offered to take on the project, just to see if he could figure out how to do it.

Voila! Check out my personalized Nexus Exchange splash page.

Login to Nexus Exchange, go to Promotional Tools, and get your own personal, customized splash page. Your name and picture can be put on the new splash page. You can add a testimonial, and it will be saved for use on future splash pages. The current splash page does not yet have a space for a testimonial.

William Brant, you so rock. Thank you.

Ya know what? Travis Millward is right. Networking is the word, join the evolution.

TweetMyBlog is beginning to look tailormade for me.

Initially, I thought Twitter was a really stupid idea. Let strangers know your minute-by-minute activities. Isn’t that what nosey next door neighbors are for? And what the heck is “microblogging” anyway? Who is really going to whip out their cell phone to text message a “tweet” for all the world to read? Apparently, a LOT of people.

I picked up a free Twitter account to keep up with a few buddies. It’s easier than sending out the same text message multiple times. Then I noticed people “following” me that I did not know. That made me nervous until I realized those people are following hundreds, even thousands, of people on Twitter. Why do they do follow thousands of people? Who knows? But the potential audience is awesome.

Now, the darnedest things float through my mind. I am not particularly shy about sharing these random thoughts. I guess that is why I like blogs. But these thoughts often do not form complete blog entries, and the world at large loses out on my dry wit. But that tragedy is no more thanks to TweetMyBlog.

Modern technology again to the rescue! I can post all of the strange and amazing ideas and associations that my ADHD brain cells can muster, on the fly yet from my cell phone if I choose, to Twitter which will then in turn show up the TweetMyBlog widget on my WordPress blog. Oh, and it goes both ways. When I write a blog post, TweetMyBlog sends a message to Twitter with the permalink to my new post.

Killing two birds with one stone? Maybe. I think of it as the ultimate in outsourcing. More work done with less effort, huge viral component, and NO monetary output on your part. That is wicked kewl.

Things move quickly in Internet marketing. How does one keep up?

Nexus Exchange member, Pat Grilliot, turned me on to Internet Marketing News Watch. It’s a great site that keeps track of the late-breaking news in Internet marketing. It’s all in one neat package in a blog-type format, easy to read, and easy to navigate. Posts are categorized by how “new” the news is. Archives go back to August 2005. You can even subscribe for email updates, which is what I do.

One of the blog posts highlighted by Internet Marketing News Watch on July 29 was by John Tan of SBO Academy. What caught my eye was that the post is about what NOT to do if you want to make money online. I firmly believe that we learn better from mistakes than successes.
